...or as Jared and I are fond of saying, "seven wakes" until we depart for our two month zig-zag across the US. I'm sure I cannot fit even one more state's 2010 Travel Guide into our portable file tote. I'm even more sure that when Jared sees the size of said tote he'll toss it right out of the car...perhaps the first of several disagreements that will surface as we spend sixty days and nights on the road in my Scion XB-turned-camper.
Yet any disagreements had surely are to be outnumbered by the moments of wonder experienced as we explore world-class cities and tiny towns, hike and camp in national and state parks, and visit old friends while meeting new ones along the way. I'm wild with excitement.
Until then, however, there is a AAA membership to procure, maps to highlight, a first aid kit to assemble. Here's to everything going smoothly as we wrap up the preparations for what we imagine will be the trip of our lives.
